About Me

I’m a software engineer.  I have 14 years of experience at Microsoft. I started as a Developer Support Engineer (MSMQ & Cluster), moved up to Software Design Engineer in the Windows Server org working on Cluster Server (for Windows Server 2003 and 2008), moved back east for family where I became an Escalation Engineer for ISA Server, and finally a Premier Field Engineer (on-site technical consultant) for App-V and Terminal Services.

The languages I am most comfortable with are c/C++, C#, VB.net, and VBScript.

In addition to the applications I’ve developed and uploaded to this site I’ve also developed a WinDbg extension dll, an SDK, a WMI provider, numerous troubleshooting and analysis tools, custom WinForm controls, and have worked with numerous technologies including Windows OS internals, SysInternals suite, debugging, Visual Studio, MSCS, App-V install and packaging, Remote Desktop/Terminal Services, COM, DCOM, MFC, WinForms, NT/Windows services, registry, GDI, assembly, multi-threading, holistic system gather and analysis (health check), cli/cmd/bat shell scripting, VBS scripting, .Net libraries, numerical computing, networking, HTML, HTTP, system and code performance optimization, secure coding, software development life cycle (SDLC), source control, code reviews, build automation, Windows troubleshooting, JSON, SQL queries, and log analysis. I am in the process of teaching myself ASP.Net, MVC, and Entity Framework.

I have a lot of experience understanding, troubleshooting, and fixing complex issues, be they in the network, OS, or user software, all while under pressure.
